During this time of going through the experience of the Corona Virus Disease I would like to offer some thoughts to you.
Thank you for working with your children to accomplish their schoolwork. I often witness through the Mass, the Religious Education program and parish events the excellence of your children and evident love that you give them in your home and family.
As the pastor of our Parish I have carefully read and followed the directives of our Bishop. He has assembled a group of leaders who share their professional expertise so that the Bishop may prayerfully make decisions to keep us in the pathway of our Holy Faith as well as to protect our health and safety. I ask you to remember our Bishop in your prayers that in his role as our shepherd he may be strengthened and consoled by the Holy Spirit.
During this time when you will be more together as a family in your home I recommend that you continue to foster the spirit of prayer. The family rosary is excellent way to elevate our mind and call upon God for the gifts of faith, hope and charity. Perhaps you could pray one decade together while meditating upon the events in the life of Our Lord recommended by the Church and incorporated in the rosary. Our Lady will guide and protect you. You can trust that she will lead your family ever more completely to her Son, Our Lord.
I pray for you each day during the Holy Mass and throughout the day. It is very quiet at Santa Cruz! I anticipate the day when your children’s’ joyful hearts and voices will once again fill the church and the hallways of our Santa Cruz!
