Confession

In Confession, the priest, who as an authorized representative of Christ in his ministry of reconciliation, hears a penitent’s confession of sins, assigns an appropriate penance, and absolves the penitent of the guilt of sin, extending the peace of Christ to the troubled conscience and renewing the state of grace and reconciling us to God and his Church. Confession is seen as a place of victory and joy as one rejoins full union with Christ and is freed from sin!
